Hoose & Gander

Hoose & Gander was created in 2023 as a passion project to highlight, celebrate, and feature character properties across Scotland and the UK.

From rustic to regal, cozy to expansive -- Hoose & Gander is a space for others to come together and celebrate unique places to stay and live.

We all like to take a glance from time to time. Go on then... take a gander and let us know if you like what you see!

How it all started

Natalie

I’m Natalie Murray. Creator and founder of Hoose and Gander.

I spend an unhealthy amount of time searching for one-of-a-kind properties in Scotland and the UK… for fun. And hey, I can’t be the only one that dreams of sipping my cuppa next to a wood burning stove surrounding by ornate oak wood paneling. RIght?

Whether you are seeking a property to purchase, interested in booking a one of kind stay, or randomly landed here while in a mindless scroll – welcome. I hope you’ll stay, have a look around, find something that inspires you. And then, won’t you please let me know what you love about the featured character properties?

I’m an American (please don’t hold that against me) who fell in love with and married a Scotsman in 2015. While primarily based in the US, we are homeowners and spend time in Scotland. I’m always searching for unique properties that we could one day purchase… or at the very least admire and use for inspiration.

Why share?

The vision is to bring together a community of individuals who admire, are inspired by, and simply can’t get enough of properties that are characterful – sometimes quirky, and exist outside of the modern cookie-cutter house molds. Whether you daydream of relocating to a cozy cottage or are seeking design inspiration for your own space, I encourage you to comment and share to help grow our characterful community.

Hoose and Gander is not a listing agency. We search for and share unique character properties featured in the public domain, including homes for sale and for let. Properties and listings are fully credited and we take no responsibility in vetting or validating information shared via resources in the public domain.
